Dan Real picked up his first guitar at the age of 9 and has been playing ever since. Dan has been a performing guitarist and vocalist almost as long and has played in various Rock, Pop, and Jazz influenced bands as well as performing solo Acoustic and Electric guitar and vocals. Dan was influenced early on by artists including The Beatles, James Taylor, Steely Dan, Jackson Browne, and one of his early instructors, Grammy nominated Jazz guitarist Grant Geissman (Chuck Mangione and LA session player, writer and performer for Hollywood TV programs such as Two and a Half Men).
Currently Dan resides in Grand County Colorado and plays with Three of Hearts, a Denver-based, vocally driven threesome featuring two guitarists and three vocalists covering artists like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Tedeschi Trucks Band and many others. Dan is also a guitarist and lead vocalist in the Granby-based classic rock band On 40. On 40 is influenced by and covers many artists from The Beatles and The Byrds, to Tom Petty, The Grateful Dead, Black Crowes, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many others. When Dan is not performing with On 40 and Three of Hearts, he enjoys performing solo for many venues across Grand County and the Front Range of Colorado.
